Guided Hiking Tour: Tagkopf

A hike with a dreamlike view of the Gastein mountain world: 
Duration approx. 7 hours, ascent approx. 550 m, 1.5 h / descent approx. 550 m, 1.5 h

This hike begins with a relaxed taxi ride from the tourist office in Dorfgastein to the starting point, the idyllic Jägerhäusel. From here, the ascent starts through a shady forest, along a well-maintained forest road towards Präau Hochalm. After about half an hour, the rustic alpine hut is reached, which impresses with its charming ambiance amidst the mountain landscape. However, the actual destination lies even higher – the Tagkopf.

The further path leads over wide pastures and repeatedly offers impressive views of the surrounding mountains of the Gastein valley. In late summer, numerous blackberry bushes line the path, providing a small snack with their sweet, dark berries. Step by step, the route approaches the summit, where a magnificent panorama and the tranquility of nature await the hikers.

The return journey is via the same route, with a well-deserved stop at the cozy Präau Hochalm. Regional delicacies invite you to linger here before ultimately returning to the Jägerhäusel, where the hike ends with many beautiful impressions.

Bus and taxi transfer costs (€6 per ride/person) and refreshments are to be paid separately. Good equipment and mountain/hiking shoes are absolutely necessary!
